Making Movies brings Panamanian-rooted rhythms with the force of a psychedelic rock show, led by Enrique Chi, who weaves the handmade mejorana into every set. Press has praised their eclectic blend, and they’ve collaborated across genres with Rubén Blades, Kevin Morby, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), and Hurray for the Riff Raff, with Steve Berlin (Los Lobos) as producer and mentor.
Part of The Ark’s Artist Spotlight Series with support from Ford Philanthropy. The show is live in the room and also livestreamed on The Ark’s Facebook and YouTube. It’s free and tickets aren’t required; you can bring nonperishables for Food Gatherers (optional).
