This is an unmistakably American program, galloping from sweeping western movie themes to vivid orchestral storytelling, full of the drama and bold spirit of the Wild West.

It opens with Bernstein's Theme from The Magnificent Seven, followed by Torke's West for Bassoon and Orchestra with Chloe Robbins as soloist. Then come the third movement of Daugherty's Ghost Ranch ("Black Rattle"), Williams' Cowboys Overture, Grofé's "On the Trail" and "Cloudburst" from the Grand Canyon Suite, and Copland's Billy the Kid Suite.

The concert is part of the Premier (8 concerts) and Masterworks (5 concerts) subscription packages. Subscriptions can be ordered online or by phone.
