Cranbrook Art Museum hosts a family workshop on Saturday, January 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the Art Lab in Bloomfield Hills. Families with kids ages 4 to 16 turn colorful textiles and accessories into art for $15 per participant, with pre-registration required.

The session runs from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and is led by an artist. You'll combine colorful textiles and fun accessories to make a multi-media, 2D piece inspired by Anna Sui's fashion collections, including her approach to upcycling clothes so they look totally different.

It's meant for families with children 4 to 16. Register ahead on the museum's website; all materials are provided. This is part of a monthly Saturday series: February 6 is accordion books, and March 6 is a mini art museum.
