Black Violin: The Be Free Tour
Black Violin brings The Be Free Tour to the Masonic Jack White Theatre at the Masonic Temple in Detroit on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 7 p.m. Two classically trained string players and a DJ fuse classical, hip-hop, funk, and jazz, with Jon Muq opening. Tickets via the venue; all ages.
Kev Marcus (violin) and Wil B (viola) plug a DJ into their classical training and blend Bach and Shostakovich with the pulse of hip-hop, funk, and jazz. The group’s name nods to Stuff Smith’s album, a touchstone for their boundary-breaking sound.
Jon Muq opens. The show is at the Masonic Temple Detroit in the Masonic Jack White Theatre and is open to all ages. Tickets are available through the venue.
