Heather Buchanan leads A Detroit Music Poetry Night at Aretha's Jazz Café at Music Hall, mixing local poetry and live grooves. Carolyn Striho brings her Detroit-honed blend of rock, folk, and soul—she landed on the 2025 Grammy First Ballot and has shared stages with Patti Smith and Iggy Pop.

Americana songwriter Mary McGuire is a Detroit Music Award recipient with decades on the road. Poet and Metro Times writer Khan Santori Davison adds his voice, a Spirit of Detroit Award honoree.
If you’re into spoken word colliding with music, this lineup puts Detroit creators together in an intimate room.
