Save The Speakeasy Benefit Concert
On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, starting at 7:30 p.m., The Ark in Ann Arbor hosted a benefit concert featuring top Michigan artists to support Johnny Williams and save the iconic Speakeasy venue.
Johnny Williams’ home and acclaimed house concert venue, Johnny’s Speakeasy, suffered a devastating fire in 2022. After 18 months, his insurance company has yet to provide fair compensation, threatening the survival of the beloved venue and forcing Johnny to relocate. This benefit concert gathered a lineup of Michigan’s finest musicians showing solidarity with the grassroots campaign to help Johnny return home, rebuild, and reopen the Speakeasy. All proceeds went into a community-created legal fund to support his fight for a fair settlement.
