The morning opens with a Great Lakes presentation, then celebrated Great Lakes balladeer Lee Murdock plays a short set. After that, you sit down to lunch from Detroit's Common Pub, drawn from George Yaworski's Ships of the Great Lakes Cookbook, including recipes from the Edmund Fitzgerald chapter.

The menu has knickerbocker bean soup and corn chowder, macaroni salad, Greek salad with pickled beets, chicken paprikash, beef stew with mashed potatoes, and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Coffee, iced tea and lemonade are served.

Because of the set menu, dietary restrictions and special requests can't be accommodated. Tickets go on sale to Detroit Historical Society members on Monday, October 12, at 10 a.m., and to everyone on October 14 at 10 a.m. The brunch runs until about 1 p.m.
