Meadow Brook Hall has run its Holiday Walk for over 50 years. You tour the 110-room Tudor-revival mansion at your own pace, from the Grand Ballroom to the Sun Porch, past about 50 trees, flickering fireplaces and plenty of lights. It takes about an hour, it's open to all ages, and it works for a date or a family outing.

November 29 is also a Santa Saturdays date, so your visit includes a stop with Santa. Start times run every half hour from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The hall closes from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to reset the tour route. It goes on rain, snow or shine, and parking is free onsite in Lot 61.

Matilda Dodge Wilson built the hall between 1926 and 1929 for $4 million, and it's one of America's finest examples of Tudor-revival architecture.
