Cheryl Wheeler at The Ark in Ann Arbor
Cheryl Wheeler showed off her two sides on Sunday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor, with guest Kenny White. The folk legend from New England mixed heart-wrenching ballads with sharp social humor.
Cheryl Wheeler is known for balancing two distinct sides: the poet crafting some of modern folk's most beautiful and intelligent ballads, and her sharp, socially critical comedic persona. At her April 14 concert at The Ark, this mix came alive, joined by New York songwriter Kenny White. Cheryl’s performances embrace heartfelt romance, keen humor, scenes of everyday New England life, committed activism, and a touch of grumpiness. Tickets for the concert were available on-site for $30.
