ZG Smith at The Ark
Indie-folk singer-songwriter ZG Smith played The Ark in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 8 p.m. The solo artist, also founder of Smooth Hound Smith, was on tour with his debut solo EP.
Originally from Los Angeles, ZG Smith made his mark after moving to Tennessee. His youth was filled with surfing and complex drumline rhythms before studying ethnomusicology with a focus on Brazilian percussion. He’s toured widely across North America and Europe, sharing stages with notable artists. His poignant and airy Nighttime Animal EP came out in 2023. The show at The Ark was an intimate setting with tickets priced at $20.
