The Decemberists Concert
The Decemberists, an original American rock band active for over 20 years, played at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 7 p.m. They performed their new single "Burial Ground," their first new music in six years.
Formed in 2000, The Decemberists released their debut EP in 2001 and have since put out nine ambitious albums blending various genres. Their newest track, "Burial Ground," carries the overt fatalism of their 2018 album "I'll Be Your Girl" combined with jangle-pop and dreamy harmonies, featuring James Mercer of The Shins. This concert was part of a tour organized by The Ark.
