The Tannahill Weavers
The legendary Scottish traditional band The Tannahill Weavers played at The Ark in Ann Arbor on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. They brought a rich blend of traditional and modern Celtic sounds.
Born in Paisley, Scotland, The Tannahill Weavers have been on the road for 53 years delivering their unique Celtic music mix. Named after their hometown’s weaving history and local poet Robert Tannahill, they mix timeless melodies with contemporary rhythms. In 2021 they welcomed Iain MacGillivray, a talented piper and fiddler who’s also Scotland’s youngest Clan leader, adding fresh energy to their performances. With their 18th album Òrach nominated for album of the year, they’ve cemented their spot as a top international Celtic band. The concert at The Ark featured a wide range of lively tunes and heartfelt ballads, filled with the spirit of Scottish life.
