GFK Trio
GFK Trio played an energetic organ jazz set on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Detroit’s Cliff Bell’s. Their sound mixes classic soul jazz with modern grooves, offering free admittance to fans of lively, soulful music.
Formed in spring 2013, GFK Trio honors the classic instrumental jazz organ trio while blending funk, soul, pop, rock, hip hop, and electronic influences. Guitarist Dan Gruszka brings a Pink Floyd-like wall of sound with his pedalboard, organist Scott Kulik commands the Hammond Organ with precision, and drummer Eric “Fil” Fillip adds funk and breakbeat-inspired rhythms. Their show features both modern and classic tunes intertwined with fresh grooves and exciting solos. This creates a soulful, energetic music experience where listeners might find themselves dancing or deeply engaged with their tight musical synergy. They played at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit with free admission.
