organissimo CD Release Event at Cliff Bell’s
organissimo, a Hammond B3 organ trio from Michigan, played their sixth album B3tles, a soulful Beatles tribute, on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit. They presented jazz reinterpretations of the Fab Four’s classics with fresh arrangements and rhythms.
organissimo’s sixth album, B3tles, gives a new jazzy spin to Beatles classics with the powerful Hammond B3 organ leading the way. Founders Jim Alfredson and Randy Marsh rearranged hits like “Taxman” with clever time signature changes, while guitarist Lawrence Barris added funky and gospel-influenced touches. Their show at Detroit’s Cliff Bell’s brought these inventive versions to life, blending deep respect for the original songs with creative, fresh sounds. Tickets were $10 at the door.
