Chris DuPont and Spencer LaJoye at The Ark, Ann Arbor
Chris DuPont and Spencer LaJoye played a concert on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 8 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor. The two indie/folk artists filled the venue with dreamy melodies and deep songwriting.
Chris DuPont, a proud Michigan native, reimagined 70’s Americana lyricism and elegance within the indie pop world through his ethereal tenor and diverse fingerstyle guitar. His songs wove contemplative themes about love, memory, and human frailty. Spencer LaJoye delivered queer indie folk with a captivating show, combining crystalline vocals looped live and grounded in their background in classical violin, Americana, and theology. The evening at The Ark created a unique blend of genres and personal storytelling.
