Taimane & Her Trio
Ukulele virtuoso Taimane played a free concert at The Ark in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 8 p.m. She brought her fiery, inventive style to the local stage with her trio. The event required attendees to use stairs due to an out-of-service elevator.
Born and raised in Hawaii with Samoan heritage, Taimane is a gifted ukulele player and songwriter known for her fierce, creative style. She has won multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards, including Favorite Entertainer of the Year in 2019 and 2023. At The Ark, she captivated the audience with intense, passionate performances from start to finish. The show was free to attend, but guests needed to navigate stairs to reach the second-floor venue since the elevator was down. The concert was also streamed live on The Ark's YouTube channel for those who couldn’t make it in person.
