Lena Jonsson Trio
The Lena Jonsson Trio, blending Swedish folk, jazz, and American old-time music, played at The Ark in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, February 11, at 8 p.m.
Swedish musician Lena Jonsson leads a trio that combines deep-rooted Swedish folk with jazz and American acoustic sounds, creating a fresh, vibrant style. With guitarist Erik Ronström and bassist Krydda Sundström, they craft virtuosic yet playful music. In 2023, they won Artist of the Year at the Swedish Folk Awards, and their album ‘‘Stories from the Outside’’ earned a Swedish Grammis. The show took place on the second floor of The Ark, which had its elevator out of service, so attendees needed to use the stairs.
