Cheryl Wheeler with special guest Kenny White
Cheryl Wheeler, the New England singer-songwriter, performed with frequent partner Kenny White on Wednesday, April 23, at 8 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor. Cheryl blends heartfelt ballads with sharp social humor.
Cheryl Wheeler seems to have two sides: the poet crafting some of the most beautiful and insightful ballads in modern folk, and her comic alter ego, a witty and pointed social critic. This mix creates an intriguing contrast—romantic balladeer, observational humorist, and committed activist all in one. Joining her on stage was Kenny White, a New York songwriter and frequent collaborator, sharing the role of musical partner in crime. The show took place on Wednesday, April 23, starting at 8 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor.
