Allison Lupton Band
Allison Lupton, Canadian singer and flutist, performed with her trio on Sunday, August 3, at 7:30 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor. Their show mixed heartfelt folk songs and lively tunes that created a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Hailing from rural Ontario, Allison Lupton's musical roots began in church choirs and local sessions. With over 25 years performing in Canada and internationally, she's earned awards including Folk Music Ontario's "Songs From The Heart" and multiple Canadian Folk Music Award nominations. On tour with her album "Words of Love," she was joined by Canadian and US fiddle champion Shane Cook and Canadian master step dancer Kyle Waymouth. Their live show blended original songs seamlessly with traditional folk music, delivering an engaging mix of story songs, fiddle tunes, and energetic step dance. Allison and her trio transported the audience to another time and brought them back with a dance.
