Sam Grisman Project
Sam Grisman Project, a collective of top-notch acoustic musicians, played on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 8 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor. They carried forward the musical legacy of David Grisman, presenting their unique take on that tradition.
Sam Grisman grew up in a musical household in Mill Valley, California, surrounded by great acoustic sounds. His father, legendary mandolinist and producer David Grisman, regularly hosted friends like Doc Watson and Jerry Garcia for sessions that inspired Sam to follow a life in music. The Sam Grisman Project sheds light on this musical heritage and its influence on their rotating lineup of highly skilled instrumentalists. Their performances blend respect for American acoustic traditions with personal individuality, creating heartfelt shows every night.
