The Klezmatics: Happy Joyous Hanukkah!
The Grammy-winning klezmer band The Klezmatics played at The Ark in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 8 p.m. They performed a holiday set celebrating their 40th anniversary with songs by Woody Guthrie about Hanukkah.
The Klezmatics have been reviving klezmer music since 1986, blending it with styles like jazz, gospel, and punk. Their show at The Ark highlighted their tribute to Woody Guthrie’s Hanukkah songs, inspired by his time in Brooklyn’s Jewish community during the 1940s. Tickets were $40 and were available both online and in person at the venue.
