Meri Slaven & Marvin Jones
Jazz vocalists Meri Slaven and Marvin Jones performed fabulous duets and individual songs on Saturday, May 11, at 9:30 p.m. at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit. They were backed by a sharp trio on piano, bass, and drums.
Meri Slaven, raised around Detroit and trained classically in Florida before shifting to jazz, teamed up with Marvin Jones for a night of richly arranged vocal duets and solo pieces. Supporting them was a trio featuring Scott Gwinnell on piano, Rocco Popielarski on bass, and Bang Glen on drums. Their combined talents filled the room with a vibrant jazz atmosphere during their show at Cliff Bell’s.
