Quartet Now! concert at Cliff Bell’s
Quartet Now! performed on Saturday, December 30, at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. in Detroit’s Cliff Bell’s. The group of four musicians – Vincent Chandler, Alex Harding, Rocco Popielarski, and Djallo Djakate – brought together three generations of jazz players with a tight and relaxed synergy.
Quartet Now! is a special jazz band uniting the experiences of multiple generations. Trombonist Vincent Chandler, baritone saxophonist Alex Harding, bassist Rocco Popielarski, and drummer Djallo Djakate make up the group. Alex Harding founded the band in 2017 and came up with its name. They quickly found their unique sound, delivering a performance noted for its spirited yet professional vibe praised by Dr. Leonard King. The concert featured two shows, at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with dinner service before the first set. The event has passed, but it was a strong experience for fans of live jazz energy.
