Russ Macklem’s Big Fellas
Jazz trumpeter Russ Macklem played a concert on Saturday, June 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Detroit’s Cliff Bell’s, sharing his rich experience from Detroit and Windsor’s cross-border music scene. The show ended at 9:30 p.m., with dinner served before the performance.
Russ Macklem is a seasoned trumpet player and composer who’s traveled across North America—from Kelowna to Miami—seeking truth and authenticity in music. At Cliff Bell’s, he delivered a dynamic set blending jazz and black music traditions, influenced by his work with the University of Miami Concert Jazz Band and more. The evening included a dinner option starting at 5 p.m., and a second show seating at 9 p.m. made for a full night of music and great company.
