Thy Bearings featuring Kasan Belgrave

Kasan Belgrave, following in the footsteps of his late trumpeter father Marcus Belgrave, is a well-rounded figure in the Detroit music scene. He's worked with big names like Aretha Franklin and Wynton Marsalis, studied at University of Michigan and Michigan State University under notable musicians, and also blends his roots in Black American music with Detroit’s techno scene. His December 4 concert at Cliff Bell’s offered a unique mix of styles. Tickets were $25, but musicians bringing their instruments could attend free.
