ELEW Concert at Cliff Bell’s
ELEW, the musical innovator, played at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. He blended jazz with rock and pop backed by a tight rhythm section.
Eric Robert Lewis, known as ELEW, one of jazz’s most forward-thinking pianists, performed at Detroit’s Cliff Bell’s in December 2024. Having collaborated with legends like Joe Henderson and Wynton Marsalis, ELEW’s style fuses traditional jazz with modern rock and pop elements. The show featured two seatings at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m., with Detroit’s own Louis Jones on drums and Jeff Pedraz on bass. A Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition winner in 1999, ELEW dazzled the audience with his fresh sound and virtuosic quartet at Cliff Bell’s.
