The Rollie Tussing Trio
The Rollie Tussing Trio played on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit. They delivered a live set full of classic jazz and country blues gems.
The trio, led by acclaimed finger-style guitarist Rollie Tussing, featured trumpeter Ross Huff and bassist Serge Van der Voo. Their program included timeless jazz and country blues, wistful tunes from the 1920s, and forgotten songs from the 19th century. Their original compositions drew inspiration from these lonely, haunted melodies that are often overlooked today. The concert took place at the iconic Cliff Bell’s, which added to the warm, determined vibe of the music.
