Ben Green’s Harmolodics and Session
Ben Green’s Harmolodics performed a tribute concert to Ornette Coleman on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit. The band redefined harmolodic music using electronic and electro-acoustic elements.
Formed in 2018 by Benjamin Green, Harmolodics honors the legendary improviser Ornette Coleman while pushing the boundaries of the traditional trio with electronic and electro-acoustic manipulation.
The show blended wandering improvisational textures, soaring melodies, hard driving grooves, and tender emotional explorations. Harmolodics delivered genuine feeling, passion, and uninhibited sonic freedom to the audience at Cliff Bell’s.
Doors opened at 5 p.m. for dinner before seating began at 6 p.m. for the "Dinner & a Show," creating a perfect atmosphere for fans of avant-garde jazz and electronic music.
