Urban Art Orchestra Featuring Slum Village at Cliff Bell’s
Iconic hip hop trio Slum Village joined forces with the 20-piece Urban Art Orchestra on Sunday, May 25, at 9 p.m. at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit. It was a special night blending Detroit's musical past and present in a live performance.
If you know Detroit music, you’ve probably heard of Slum Village, formed in the early ’90s by childhood friends from Conant Gardens. Now led by T3 and Grammy-nominated producer Young RJ, they kept the legacy alive. The Urban Art Orchestra, a 20-plus member group led by acclaimed composer De’Sean Jones, brought a rich mix of live strings, horns, vocals, and DJ sets. The concert took place on Sunday, May 25, at 9 p.m. at Cliff Bell’s, delivering a powerful fusion of classic and new sounds. Tickets were $50.
