Urban Tropical at Cliff Bell’s

Urban Tropical is the creative project of Alina Morr, pianist and arranger for the Grammy-nominated group Straight Ahead, featuring Detroit’s top Latin and jazz musicians. Alina’s journey from Detroit’s blues scene through the Caribbean—from Santo Domingo to Cuba and Latin cruise performances—shapes the band’s authentic modern Latin music style. The lineup includes John Douglas on trumpet, Eddie Caraballo on bass and vocals, Armando Vega as lead vocalist and congas player, Christopher Kaercher on tenor sax and flute, and Djallo Djakate on drums. Doors opened at 5 p.m. for dinner with seating at 6 p.m. for the first show at 7:30 p.m., followed by a second show seating at 9 p.m. Tickets were $25.
