Russ Macklem Detroit Quintet and Jam Session
Russ Macklem’s Detroit Quintet played at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, starting at 7:30 p.m. The band performed original tunes from their new live-off-the-floor studio album. A jam session followed, with free entry for all participating musicians.
Russ Macklem, a Juno-nominated artist, led a stellar Detroit quintet featuring Kasan Belgrave, Jordan Anderson, Noah Jackson, and Louis Jones III through a set of original compositions. The show highlighted tracks from their latest album, "Introducing: the Russ Macklem Detroit Quintet," recorded in a single session capturing the vibe of early 1960s jazz. Notable numbers like "I Will Persevere," "Nostalgia: For A Past Life," and "Mr. Anderson" brought out the band’s dynamic chemistry. The concert was followed by a jam session welcoming local musicians to join in for free.
