CANJA de BOA
Kyle Canjar's CANJA de BOA brought a lively blend of Brazilian pop and American jazz to Detroit’s Cliff Bell’s on Thursday, February 12, at 7:30 p.m. Their mix of samba, bossa nova, MPB, and jazz created a laid-back summer vibe indoors.
CANJA de BOA offered a musical journey through Brazilian pop styles and American jazz led by guitarist Kyle Canjar. The group combined samba, bossa nova, afoxé, and maracatu rhythms with jazz roots in a fun and relaxed setting. Vocalist Pia Broden Williams, woodwinds player Michelle Ureña, and percussionist Gordon Krupsky enriched the sound at Cliff Bell’s, blending two musical worlds in a vibrant dialogue.
