Charlie Parr and Dead Horses Concert
Charlie Parr, the melancholy storyteller from rural Minnesota, and the folk duo Dead Horses played on Monday, December 6, at 8 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor.
Charlie Parr stays true to his roots in cold northern Minnesota, spinning multi-layered narratives about overlooked outsiders who live on society's margins. He’s never moved to Nashville or LA, and his 2021 July Smithsonian Folkways debut album "Last of The Better Days Ahead" reflects that authentic perspective.
Dead Horses is a duo featuring singer-guitarist Sarah Vos and bassist Daniel Wolff, blending folk, indie, and traditional roots into a unique, intimate musical dialogue. Sarah’s emotive songwriting paired with Dan’s adventurous bass playing creates a special sound. The concert took place at The Ark with tickets required and followed Michigan’s health regulations for the audience.
