Michael Zaporski's Jazz at Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe

Michael Zaporski creates music mixing American jazz traditions and West African rhythms, forging a unique rhythmic conversation. Formerly the pianist for Detroit saxophonist Sam Sanders, he also taught jazz in West Africa through the U.S. State Department. His collaborations include jazz greats like Jackie McLean and Art Blakey. On October 5 at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms, Zaporski brought his FutureVisions group’s original compositions and energetic style to the stage. Tickets were $20.
