35th Annual Storytelling Festival
The 35th Annual Storytelling Festival took place on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor. Six local and regional storytellers shared a variety of storytelling styles, from personal true stories to folk tales and songs.
The event celebrated the diversity of storytelling arts, featuring a mix of personal stories, tall tales, folk stories, literary narratives, and folk songs. Performers included four members of the Ann Arbor Storytellers Guild – Steve Daut, Lorelle Otis, Jane Fink, and Rich Swanson – as well as Barbara Schutzgruber from Lansing and Larry Castleberry from the Detroit Association of Black Storytellers. The festival was also streamed live on The Ark’s Facebook and YouTube channels for free, with an option to tip. Proof of vaccination was required for admission.
