Alexander Zonjic, a 15-time Detroit Music Awards winner from nearby Windsor, played at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms on Thursday, May 16, at 6 p.m. He’s known for blending smooth jazz performance with TV and radio hosting.
Alexander Zonjic has shaped Detroit’s jazz scene across decades. Born right across the river in Windsor, Ontario, he earned 15 Detroit Music Awards and hosted the popular WVMV morning smooth jazz radio show from 1998 to 2010. Since 2016, he’s been running a weekly hybrid TV show on WADL TV-38 called “Alexander Zonjic from A to Z,” mixing live concerts with special interviews. At the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, he brought his rich musical style to the stage for an evening of jazz.
