Augustana at The Ark
Augustana, led by Dan Layus, performed on Monday, November 14, at 8 p.m. at The Ark in Ann Arbor. The show featured music from his latest solo piano album exploring new musical territory.
Augustana’s Dan Layus took a bold turn from his indie-rock staples for this concert. Instead of singing, he used piano performances from his album "Everyday an Eternity: Solo Piano Works" to deliver poetic melodies blending classical, romantic, and modern styles. The evening at The Ark showcased Layus's explorations beyond his usual sound, presenting fresh expressions on piano that moved through shifts and variations with confidence.
