Alune Wade Concert
Alune Wade, handpicked by Marcus Miller, performed on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Ann Arbor’s Blue LLama Jazz Club. He combined Afrobeat and jazz with his New African Orleans project.
Alune Wade is a remarkable musician personally chosen by Marcus Miller for the 'Afrodeezia' album and has collaborated with legends like Salif Keita and Gregory Porter. His distinctive electric bass playing and emotive falsetto voice echo the tradition of West African griots. At the Blue LLama Jazz Club, he presented his New African Orleans project, blending Afrobeat rhythms with the bold brass sounds of New Orleans.
