Christmas Dreaming with Stella Cole
Stella Cole's holiday concert took place on Sunday, December 7 at 6 p.m. at the Blue LLama Jazz Club in Ann Arbor. She celebrated the season with her new Decca single, “Merry Christmas, Darling.”
Known for her powerhouse voice likened to Judy Garland and Rosemary Clooney, Stella Cole brought a fresh take on holiday classics to the Blue LLama Jazz Club. Her set featured Grammy-winning arranger Alan Broadbent’s arrangements, including her praised version of “Merry Christmas, Darling,” a favorite even of Richard Carpenter. Stella’s voice bridges generations with a style often described as a Laufey-meets-Bublé vibe. She was accompanied by Michael Kanan on piano, Michael Migliore on bass, and Hank Allen-Barfield on drums, making the night special for fans of timeless holiday music.
