Trampled By Turtles at The Majestic Theatre
Minnesota's Trampled By Turtles played a high-energy set blending bluegrass, folk, and rock on Sunday, December 4, at 7 p.m. in Detroit's Majestic Theatre. Michigan's Full Cord opened the show with their genre-spanning sound.
Formed in 2003 by Duluth’s Dave Simonett after losing his gear in a theft, Trampled By Turtles craft fast, energetic music mixing bluegrass and rock. Their work includes several acclaimed albums, with 2022's Alpenglow produced by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy. Opening act Full Cord from Grand Haven, Michigan, known for blending originals, newgrass, and jazz elements, won the 2022 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition. Their performance at the Majestic Theatre was marked by dynamic musicianship and a rich setlist.
