DJF All-Stars Tribute to Dave Brubeck
On Thursday, November 21 at 6 p.m., DJF All-Stars played Dave Brubeck’s iconic compositions at Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms. The set included classics like Blue Rondo Ala Turk and Take Five.
This show, a favorite of one of the organizers, featured the DJF All-Stars performing Brubeck’s legendary works across his 72-year career. With Chris Collins on saxophones, pianists Cliff Monear (Thursday) and Scott Gwinell (Friday/Saturday), Ray Parker on bass, and Louis Jones on drums, they brought Brubeck’s classics — including Blue Rondo Ala Turk, Take Five, Tritonis, and more — to life on the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe stage. Jazz fans gathered in Grosse Pointe Farms for an evening filled with timeless melodies.
