Dave Bennett at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe
Jazz clarinetist Dave Bennett, influenced by Alice Cooper and Stevie Ray Vaughan, played on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms. Expect a rare blend from swing classics to rockabilly tunes.
Dave Bennett breaks the mold of a typical jazz clarinet player. He draws inspiration from Alice Cooper, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Chris Isaak, expertly blending swing and rockabilly while accompanying himself on guitar or piano. Touring nationally since he was 14, Dave has performed at Carnegie Hall and with numerous orchestras across the US and Canada. He sold out New York’s Birdland Theater in 2022, and his second album charted on the Billboard jazz charts. If you like a versatile mix of jazz and rock influenced music, Dave Bennett’s show was worth catching.
