Little River Band
Little River Band plays the Capitol Theatre in Flint on Friday, October 9, at 8 p.m. The Australian band behind "Reminiscing" and "Lady" formed in 1975; tickets start at $73.
Little River Band formed in Melbourne in 1975 with American radio in its sights: strong songwriting, powerful vocals and guitar harmonies. Between 1976 and 1983 they landed hits like "Reminiscing," "Lady," "Cool Change" and "Help Is on Its Way." In 1982 they set a Billboard record with Top 10 US hits in six consecutive years, and in 2004 they went into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
Today's lineup is anchored by bassist and lead singer Wayne Nelson, a 45-year band veteran, with Chris Marion on keys, Ryan Ricks on drums, and Colin Whinnery and Bruce Wallace on guitars. Eagles founder Glenn Frey guested with the band in 1988 and called them the best singing band in the world.
The show runs 75-90 minutes with no intermission and is family-friendly. Groups of 10+ get special pricing, veterans get a day-of-show offer, and a 3+ show package saves 15%.
