The program, called American Love Story, opens with Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, then moves to Gershwin's Concerto in F. It closes with Howard Hanson's Symphony No. 2, the "Romantic."

Haochen Zhang is at the piano. He won gold at the 13th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009 and received an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2017.

This concert is for digital viewing, streaming live at concert time. You can also watch on demand for 30 days, October 10 through November 9, 2026. A pre-concert talk, Inside the Music, starts at 6:30 p.m., and students 13 and up get a Backstage Pass at intermission. The $16 price includes fees.
