Flint Youth Theatre Presents: A Christmas Carol at MacArthur Recital Hall
Dickens up close: Flint Youth Theatre stages A Christmas Carol at MacArthur Recital Hall, 1025 E. Kearsley St. in Flint, on Friday, December 4, 2026. The actors change scenes and costumes right in front of you and sing the music a cappella. It runs about 60 minutes, with tickets from $22.
Flint Youth Theatre presents John Jakes' nationally successful stage adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic, in a version built for touring to school cafeterias, gyms, auditoriums and other spaces without conventional theater gear. It keeps much of the flavor of the longer adaptation, tells Dickens' story faithfully, and lets young audiences enjoy the real magic of theater as the actors create scene and costume changes as the show moves along.
No lighting or sound equipment is needed, and the cast provides the music a cappella. Charles Dickens himself opens the show, starts telling the story of Scrooge's redemption, then brings it to life with the rest of the cast. Runtime is about 60 minutes. Tickets start at $22, or $18 for Genesee County residents, fees included. MacArthur Recital Hall is at 1025 East Kearsley Street, Flint.
