Grand Kyiv Ballet Presents – Snow Queen
Grand Kyiv Ballet performed the winter ballet “The Snow Queen” on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 7 p.m. on the Frauenthal Theater Stage in Muskegon. This romantic tale based on Hans Christian Andersen’s story offered vivid emotions for both kids and adults.
The ballet, inspired by the famous fairy tale, featured music by Edvard Grieg, Jules Massenet, Mozart, and Vivaldi. It told the story of Kai, whose heart becomes cold after a shard of a witch’s mirror hits his eye, and Gerda’s brave journey to rescue him from the Snow Queen’s icy realm. The cast included robbers, forest fairies, a funny snowman, and magical trolls. The event was presented by the Frauenthal Center at the Frauenthal Theater in Muskegon.
