01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Belle Isle is a roughly 982-acre, or 397-hectare, island park in the Detroit River. Woods and shoreline sit alongside an aquarium, conservatory, fountain, and museum. The MacArthur Bridge connects it to the city. You can make a short scenic visit or spend much of a day exploring, but the attractions on the island keep separate schedules from the park itself.
