Make time for these

Founded in 1966, BoarsHead grew into mid-Michigan's oldest professional resident theatre, a 250-seat Actors' Equity house in downtown Lansing. According to its history, it began as a summer stock company in a barn in Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge, founded by John Peakes and Richard Thomsen. It went year-round in 1970 and later moved to Lansing. Falling ticket sales and leadership turmoil took their toll: the final performance, on December 20, 2009, was a play written by two of its interns. In 2010, Lansing Community College's trustees voted 4-2 not to pursue a rescue partnership with the bankrupt company.
