Make time for these

The Harmony opened on Mack Avenue on December 12, 1921, with 1,322 seats, designed by Ernest C. Thulin's Building Service Bureau. C. Howard Crane remodeled it in Art Moderne style in 1941, and it reopened on October 31 of that year as the Admiral. In the 1960s it still showed first-run Hollywood films; in the 1970s it became the east side's home of kung fu, blaxploitation and low-budget horror double bills. It closed by the mid-1970s, became a church and is now offices and shops.

  • Remodeled Art Moderne by Crane in 1941
  • Kung fu, blaxploitation and horror in the '70s
  • Now home to offices and shops
