Make time for these

Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids produces plays and musicals on Jewish themes for a general audience. It was born in 1992, when Judy Subar, who had been collecting information on Jewish plays staged around the U.S., brainstormed the idea with Don Herman over coffee at Arnie's in Breton Village. More than 30 years and 87 productions later, it's still going. Its four-show season runs September to June at Grand Rapids Community College's Spectrum Theater. The 2026-27 season, themed “Intrusive Identities,” includes Jason Robert Brown's Parade (December 3-13) and Arthur Miller's Broken Glass (February 4-14, 2027).

  • From a coffee-shop idea to 87 productions
  • Parade: December 3-13, 2026
